Artist's Comments

Two shots I couldn't decide on which to display. I was looking at them as they are, and thought it would be a wonderful way just like that. No, that was not a diffuse or whatever from PS. Generic 55mm filter and a polarizer to take out some of the background elements. .5s at f/5.6 of an indoor potted pink rose for both shots. Taken with a Nikon N75 using a Quantaray 28-90mm variable aperature lens and above filters, also by Quantaray, on Kodak 400 ISO outdoor/indoor film. Enjoy!

Yes, in Filters > Distort > Diffuse Glow and set the grain to zero, and tweak the other settings to your pleasure. :)

thanks, i was trying to get a similar effect to yours because mine was too grainy cause i took it in low light with a low shutterspeed. thanks.

Sad, sad man. Make a softbox; it'll help with those low-light long exposures by removing grain. Built a sizeable box out of thin, rectangular plywood. Make sure wax paper can fit 5 sides, leaving 1 exposed (the back) Get a low heat lightbulb and a small table lamp. Put the lamp inside the softbox and turn it on. There! Your very own lightbox. :)

ok, i'll have to try it out.

I find these shot very romantic.
And I love how you displayed them together rather than seperate.

The "Blur" Effect feels like you're in a dream, and the colours really fit well.

Nice shot[s] Matt.

Thanks for the favorite Natalie. I have much better shots than this in digital process now. I put these two up just to let people know I wasn't inactive. I wasn't expecting people to actually like them. Not that that is a bad thing. ;)
