Its been over a year since I seriously touched my camera. It feels good to have it back in my hands. Something recently just made me feel the urge to create, but what pushed me over the edge was this photostream. I know one Laurence's older brothers, and he showed me this yesterday. I as like "damn, I really need to pick up my camera." So I did.

It also helps that it was a beautiful morning and I found some unblemished leaves on a young dogwood tree in my backyard (most of them had spots) and boy howdy do I love leaves. Flowers are okay, but leaves can be absurdly beautiful. I also noticed a spider my dog was sniffing at and I wanted to see how close I could get with the midrange lens I had attached. I don't really have a macro lens, and besides, if I took the time to switch to a different lens, the spider might have been gone. I'm not sure if I got a good photo of it though... we'll see.

More to come shortly.

EDIT: It seems all the leaf shots aren't of sufficient quality. Now the light is too harsh and I will have to try again once I am up that early with a nice morning. Even the spider ones didn't turn out as well as I'd hope, but there is one I do like.

I got a card-reader a few days ago. You know what that means? I can unload my camera from pictures of family shit that I've been forced to use it as. And then I can use it for what I WANT. But then again, I'd have to stop playing Wrath and that wouldn't be fun, now would it. I guess I'll go for a walk or somesuch tomorrow. Yay.

Go me!

It's been a year!

It's NaNoWriMo. Oh god, I can already feel the pressure of week four on my chest. It's the first goddamn day. I've been at it an hour and got just over 700 words. Great rate, compared to last years opening rate of just 350 work per hour. I might actually make it to 2000 today.

Well, I might find some time during my stress-relieving walks to snap a few shots. That is, unless I have the dog with me.
